Racing And Gaming Appointment Clarification
Back on the topic of expanded gaming there seems to be some confusion as to when shovels can be put in the ground and work can begin. Earlier this month we were joined by State Senator Ray Aguilar who said the racing and gaming commission was still waiting on one final appointment from the Governor.
Yesterday, KRGI News reached out to the Governor’s office seeking a timetable for that appointment. Justin Pinkerman from the Governor’s office responded with the following information.
“The State Racing and Gaming Commission can take action as long as a quorum of its members are present at meetings. Thus, the Governor does not need to appoint the final member before the commission can act.”
