Feature Story: Debate Continues On Gambling Bill
Debate continued yesterday on LB 561 otherwise known as the gambling bill, as a few crucial amendments were discussed and debated.

Debate began with the electronic keno portion of the bill after Senator Tom Briese of Albion decided to strip the issue from the bill.
The idea of stripping away E-Keno drew strong criticism from Senator Carol Blood of Bellevue.
E keno supporters voted to keep the amendment in the bill.
Then came the topic of sports gambling after Senator Patty Pansing Brooks doubled down (pardon the pun) on her views of betting on the Huskers.
Senator Adam Morfeld of Lincoln, whose district includes the University of Nebraska Lincoln countered his colleague.
Senator Terrell Mckinny, a former D1 wrestler for UNO offered some first hand experience on the issue.
Senators voted for no restrictions on sports gambling, and than gave the bill second round approval.
