Preventing Osteoporosis Free Education Series for the Community-May 23

GRAND ISLAND, NE--CHI Health St. Francis, in collaboration with Nebraska Heart Institute, is hosting a heart-education session at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 23 in Conference Room 2/3 at the hospital. Physician Assistant Trevor Engelson, PA-C will discuss “Osteoporosis: What is it? And how can you modify your risk factors?”

Part of a new monthly series, this presentation is free and open to the community. 

Engelson will explore the bone-weakening disease affecting 80 percent of older Americans including the benefits of medications, healthy diet and weight-bearing exercise to strengthen bones and prevent bone loss.

Engleson practices at Central Nebraska Orthopedics and treats a variety of musculoskeletal disorders and soft tissue injuries, especially in the knee and shoulder joints.
